Should I congratulate the child on February 23? How to tell him about this holiday in an accessible form? What to give a little "defender"? You will find answers to these and other questions related to Defender of the Fatherland Day in this article.

Modern children perceive February 23 as a "man's holiday" - a kind of antipode on March 8. The true purpose of the holiday in general terms now they know only the kids who are brought up in military families. Decades of peaceful life somewhat reduced the significance of the Day of Defender of the Fatherland. But this does not mean that boys should not know anything about its origin. This is part of the education of the young patriot and, last but not least, the protector of all the weak.

Holiday history for children 2-5 years

This is the age when the concepts of the army and its mission are either absent or very vague. Therefore, it is enough to tell your son that February 23 is a holiday of all defenders. Let him protect girls from bad boys on the playground, and adult uncles protect the country from bad people. So that people could say "thank you" to all good defenders, they came up with such a holiday. This information will be enough for now.

What to tell a child 6-9 years old

A long time ago, our country was very big and was called the Soviet Union. The country had many enemies, but every time someone attacked her, simple brave men threw everything and took up arms to protect their homeland and family. In gratitude for this protection, people invented a holiday on February 23.

The date is not accidental: on this day the young state of the USSR created its own army. On this day, you can congratulate dad, grandfather, teacher, neighbor, friends. And the point is not that dad is a manager, grandfather never served, and friends are still very small. Each of the men, if necessary, should be ready to protect his country and his loved ones from adversity and enemies.

Gifts for little defenders

To make the baby really feel the significance of the holiday, you need to emphasize it with a gift. And if a husband has enough standard foam for shaving and socks (no joke!), Then a present for a small defender is worth considering. In general, it all depends on the age of the child.

For children under 6 years old, the best gift would be a toy: a tank, a war machine, a theme book with pictures;

For a child of 6-7 years old, you can choose board games-strategy with a "military" bias. Also fit a set of toy tools. After all, the defender is not only the one who fights, but also who is the master of all trades.

A boy of 8-10 years old can be given toys in a military style (all sorts of pistols and swords). You can also "address" gifts for the Defender's Day, related to the hobbies of the child (a football or a set of a young tracker (chemist, physicist, detective ...))

A child as young as 12 years old can be presented with a car or a helicopter on the control panel, an encyclopedia of military equipment (this is almost 100 percent “hit”, as tanks and other military vehicles like even ingrained botanists).

When presenting a gift, it would be nice to focus the attention of the son on how important it is to protect the weak, not to be afraid to face danger, to be brave and confident.
