Scottish singer Emelie Sande has received the prestigious award as the best solo artist at the Q Awards ceremony. The event took place yesterday, Tuesday, in London at the Grosvenor Hotel.
25-year-old Sande won a difficult victory. Among her competitors were well-known musicians - Adele, Noel Gallagher and Florence Welch.
By the way, at Sandé this year has become so memorable. At the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Summer Games, she played a major role. After receiving the award, Emelie was very excited and said only: "There was a lot of competition, so I'm really very happy."
